With racquetball being an increasingly popular sport, the market for racquetball bags, racquets, balls, gloves, and shoes is booming. Sporting goods companies like Ekleton, E-Force, and even Nike provide all varieties of racquetball equipment and accessories, perhaps the most necessary being racquetball bags.

Racquetball was invented in 1948 by Joe Sobek, with a similar game emerging in Britain around 1976 known similarly as racketball. The game is played in an enclosed hardwood court with specific dimensions and lines. In a traditional game, two players face off by alternating strikes of a hollow rubber ball using small racquets against the wall. Unlike tennis, racquetball players dodge each other on the same side of the court (there is only one side to begin with), and the walls, floors, and ceilings are all considered in bounds. The game can be played 1-Up, or head to head, as well as with teams of 2. Scoring is similar to volleyball with only the service team winning points. Professional players play to the best of 5 eleven point games.

In order to play the sport, players need racquets, balls, and protective goggles as well as other useful accessories like gloves and shoes. So the problem becomes finding bags with enough room for all that equipment. Most racquetball bags contain specially fitted compartments for the racquets, and pockets for balls, shoes, and gloves. Most players prefer carrying racquetball bags to protect the racquets themselves (the frames of which can easily bend in transit) in addition to water bottles, sweatbands, clothing, etc. Racquetball bags can cost anywhere from $10-$80, with name brands, style, quality, and design features determining cost.

One of the most popular racquetball equipment companies, Ektelon produces an entire line of various racquetball bags as well as racquetball backpacks. Ektelon racquetball bags come in a variety of styles with shoulder straps or even wheels for transporting, different dimensions for racquet space. They also come equipped with other design features such as mesh pockets for sweaty gear like shoes and sweatbands. There are even Ektelon racquetball bags specially designed for traveling and protecting racquet frames during transit. Racquetball backpacks are especially convenient for running or biking to the gym. Nike racquetball bags are similar but can cost up to $60 for the Nike brand name.

Racquetball bags can be found at any racquetball equipment store, sporting goods store, or online sports equipment site. Players can't play racquetball without the equipment, and they can't carry their equipment without one of the many racquetball bags available today. Pick one up and get down to the court equipped to play!
